Teams are made
up of supervising adults and high
school students; teams typically
have two adults
and 10 to 15 students.
An Art from
the Heart chapter completes
an average
of two room makeovers each
year.
Room makeovers
usually entail prepping and
painting;
making and/or purchasing new
bedding, curtains, lamps
and accessories; and new carpeting
or an area rug.
Depending on the room design,
volunteers may also provide
a new desk, bed or shelving.
Team members
meet with the child and his
or her
family
to design the room of their
dreams. Throughout
the makeover, they get to know
all the family members,
and form a lasting bond.
